Native English Speaker

Born and raised in an english enviroment, I thought I had mastered english but since studying Languages at Uni and having a partner who is studying english I realized there is so much that I dont know. The flow of speaking english comes "naturally of course" but understanding why and studying how it is learnt by second language students is different. Do you know what a passive sentence is? well I didnt. New Zealand (kiwienglish) has grown and adpoted many new words like bro, cuz, chur and sweet as. Technology has helped to mould kiwi vocab. Mobile phone Texting for instance has an endless amount of shortcuts and slang like, "swt az bro, GR8 cum 2 m uni @ 12, c u L8r. Media has also influenced Kiwi language, look at Bro Town, the mixture of nationalities and accents have had a big influence on Kiwi English.
